Seemingly floating from the void of nowhere to an unknown destination, the central lone figures in Henrik Aarrestad Uldalen’s paintings have a calm composure. Looking at his body of work is much like stepping deep into a dream or another translation could be empty space. Henrik who came to Norway when he was about five months old, adopted from Seoul, South Korea has no formal art training other then starting out training to be a art teacher, his method starts off with a vague and abstract idea, often just an idea of color and atmosphere with Humans at the center of all of my paintings which at times are then broken down.
