Lorraine Loots is a South African artist based in Cape Town, who creates impossibly miniature paintings. Lorraine works with paintbrushes, pencils, and bare eyes to render superbly detailed paintings scarcely larger than a small coin.

It all started back in 2013 under the project ‘365 Paintings for Ants’, which was followed in 2014 with ‘365 Postcards for Ants’. As the titles suggest, each project consisted with Lorraine creating a new miniature painting every single day for a year.

Her most recent project ‘Potluck100’ involves a collection of 100 miniatures, which will be painted over 25 weeks, on themed days, namely: Microcosm Mondays, Tiny Tuesdays, Fursdays and Free Fridays. The weeks will be announced randomly as the year goes along, the dates of the paintings thus becoming the "potluck" element.

All 100 original paintings will be auctioned on Instagram with a limited edition of 10 prints released for each of the paintings via Lorraine's website.
