It’s time for another ‘Artist Spotlight’, as we shine the lens on a new member to the drawdeck community! Meet Jeer, a photographer originally from India, now living and working in Dubai.
Before moving to the UAE, Jeer was a videographer in his hometown of Kerala, leading a team at a film promotion agency and working on commercial ads, music videos and Films. He is mad about monochrome and a wizard with drones. His new and exclusive drawdeck collection, reflects his love for cinematography, capturing moments of life whilst exploring his new surroundings.
Q: As a photographer, how do you know what to shoot, where do you start?
A: When I explore new places for photography, I often check for inspiration. However, if I’m familiar with the area, I just let my creativity flow freely.
Q: Many photographers have a favorite location or subject they love to shoot. What's your go-to place or subject in Dubai, and why does it hold a special place in your heart?
A: There is something about the streets of Dubai. Through my viewfinder, the streets, people and their emotions have their own stories.
Q: How would you describe your artistic style?
A: I don’t limit myself to one specific style. I’m a person who loves transforming moments into memories and it can manifest in different creative photography styles.
Q: Can you tell us about someone who has influenced your work and how they've shaped your style?
A: My style has evolved over time, drawing expiration from friends and Littil Swayamp. It’s a mosaic of influences from everyone I’ve encountered.
Q: One photography tip you can't live without?
A: The art of observation. It encourages patience, mindfulness, and a profound sense of presence. It’s a practice I believe can benefit everyone.
